"Make My Mini?"

"Make my Mini?" was the result of an extensive period of time and development of my scultural and film based work. It is centred around the idear that what we see within films and television engrains on our visions and oppinions of what the past was like. For example I was born in 1986 and my view of the sixtys is one that could be said to be tainted by the films and television I may have seen. But was It really like what I have been shown and imagine.
It orginates from being in a very rough area of Leeds, where I was asked for a cigartte while waiting for a bus. after saying that I did not have one the couple who had asked carried on down the path. I watched on as the man reached into a bush and pulled out a bannana skin and layed it on the path. He then turned and smiled at me with no teeth. It made me think that he was a practical joker who had played to many practical jokes and lost his teeth in the process. But this made me think that the instant that I saw the bannana skin on the ground, my mind thought of cartoon or chaplin movies where someone would slip head over heels. Would this happen and could anybody ever miss a bright yellow bannana skin.
It is also linked into my thought and ideas that when we are children we are able to create magical objects out of cardboard, paper, paint and glue, but as we get older our skills increase but we loose that cr.eative side, maybe not all of us loose it
